Pork Roast with Apples & Onions
  • 1 whole pork shoulder roast (pork butt)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Princess House® All-Natural Pure Grapeseed Oil in Princess House® Specialty Stainless Steel Oil Mister
  • 4 cups apple juice
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 3 whole apples, cored and sliced using our Princess House® Specialty Apple Slicer
  • 3 whole medium onions, sliced
  • 1 whole bay leaf
  • Princess Heritage® Tri-Ply Stainless Steel 7-Qt. Sear & Simmer Pan

Heat pan over medium high heat. Season pork roast with salt and pepper, then spray both sides lightly with oil. When pan is hot, sear pork roast 2½ to 3 minutes on each side. Reduce heat to low. Add apple juice, beef stock, apple slices, onion slices and bay leaf. Cover and simmer 3 hours. Remove roast, apples and onions to serving platter. Raise heat to medium-high to high and boil liquid in pan, reducing until sauce is thick and rich. Cut roast into slices, then spoon sauce (discard the bay leaf) over the roast. Serve with the apples and onions. Serves 8.
